Dentistry

Good dental care is essential for keeping your pet’s teeth and gums healthy—and for maintaining their overall wellbeing. Dental disease can lead to much more than just bad breath; it can cause painful gums, difficulty eating, and in more serious cases, can result in infections that affect the kidneys, heart, and other vital organs.

At Mt Evelyn Veterinary Clinic and Animal Hospital, we’re passionate about preventive care. We recommend regular dental homecare to reduce plaque and tartar buildup, helping to slow the progression of gum disease. While most pets will eventually require a professional scale and polish, consistent homecare can reduce the frequency of these treatments—and help avoid the need for tooth extractions.

Our clinic is equipped with a state-of-the-art IM3 veterinary dental machine, allowing us to perform everything from routine cleaning to advanced dental procedures, including extractions. All dental procedures are carried out under general anaesthetic and are typically completed as day surgeries.
